People's contributing editor Mitchell Fink traveled to Morocco with Muhammad Ali as part of a Global Village Market relief mission to bring food and medical supplies to orphaned children.
The former champ visited with King Hassan II and his two sons. Despite deteriorating motor skills due to Parkinson's disease, Ali still possesses a sly wit and the ability to land a good jab, Fink reports. At the United States embassy, a representative of the Moroccan employees there presented Ali with a coffee-table book about their country. Ali looked at the book, then at the representative, and said, "I traveled so many miles to get here and all you give me is this book?" |
