Ali Fights World Hunger
Boxing legend  Muhammad Ali ignited the world's sports passion as he lit the Olympic Cauldron. Now, Ali and nutrition products manufacturer VitaPro, hope to direct public attention to helping hungry  people worldwide. They're launching an effort to deliver 8 million metric tons of donated food to a half-million refugees in Liberia. They hope this step will spur further relief efforts through the Olympic aid program, an effort that provides critical supplies to war- torn countries during each Olympic games. "We can't just help others during the holidays. It's a challenge, that stands 365 days a year," says Yank Barry of VitaPro. Seven years of civil war in Liberia have left 800,000 homeless. "There is  an urgent need for food and  medical supplies, and we hope others respond generously." For Ali, the effort to feed the world's hungry has become a life's mission. He appears at dozens of events a year, tirelessly endorsing charitable efforts. Barry calls Ali, "the greatest person I've ever met. He's the symbol of  the Olympic Spirit."

Ali's recent appearance at the Opening Ceremony thrust him back into the public eye and in the process may raise world consiousness to help people live stronger, faster, higher.

Explains Barry, "We just hope it helps people live."
